Tips

Valencia is a city that keeps us entertained at a slow pace. A nice historic center, with a modern pinch in it, and miles of beaches, fine food, drinks and lots of fun. Add to it, 300 sunny days a year and an average annual temperature of 19 ° C and there's no way of failing.

Must visit & Major attractions:
Touring the historical center, relatively small and easy to explore on foot, it is something that will give you an idea about the city's history and culture. Along this route, you will find some of the most beautiful buildings, such as Lonja de La Seda, an old silk market, Marqués de Los Aguas Palace, the Quart and  Serranos towers, the old city gates and the Cathedral of Valence. If you still have some strength left, we advise you to climb the 207 steps that lead to the top of Miguelete, the cathedral steeple. Upstairs there are 360-degree views over the historic center.
Exploring the historic center, we completely change the scenery and go to Valencia 'Futuristic', to the City of Arts and Sciences, designed by the Spanish architect and engineer Santiago Calatrava. It is considered to be the largest entertainment and cultural complex in Europe and host several buildings, namely the Prince Felipe Science Museum, the Queen Sofia Arts Palace, the opera house and cultural center, the Oceanographic, the largest aquarium in Europe and L'Umbracle, a stroll with plants and sculptures by contemporary artists. The Turia Garden, where the City of Arts and Sciences is located, is a magnificent park built on the old Turia river bed, diverted from its course in 1957, after great floods. There are almost nine kilometers of gardens, bridges, lakes, and playgrounds, which is worth appreciating.
Don't forget also the city markets, which are well worth to visit, whether for a tasting or simply to appreciate the architecture.
Valencia's Cathedral has more than a thousand years of history, and its architecture has changed a lot over the times. In the location where it is today, there was before a mosque, built at the time of the Arab invasion. It is said that, after the resumption of the city, the ground was blessed and the place baptized as a Christian temple.

Gastronomy
The famous Valencian paella! The original version is made with chicken and rabbit meat, snails, green beans and saffron, but you will easily find mixed paellas, with fish and seafood. In the land of paella, as you would expect, what is not lacking are restaurants serving this delicacy, but the most traditional is La Pepica, opened since 1898.
To accompany the typical dish, nothing better than the city's drink, the Water of Valencia, which has very little water, which is as it says, nothing. It's a type of sangria made with cava, orange juice, vodka, and gin. While strolling around the city you will surely come across another typical drink, the horchata, you can't miss it.
It is a non-alcoholic beverage, of vegetal origin, produced from a tuber, the chufa plant. Its appearance is milky and the taste slightly similar to almond milk. To savor the horchata as a true Valencian you should drink it cold, accompanied by fartons, a traditional cake, soaked in the drink. Horchateria de Santa Catalina is one of the oldest and most renowned.
Finally, you cannot miss the city's markets, Mercado Central and Mercado Colon.
